LED (Light Emitting Diode)
Analysis of luminance created by LED chips covered with resin
Product information

SPECTER
Purpose
To know the influence of scattering particle size on the output luminance
Overview of an RGGB LED chip cluster
Four LED chips exist (red, green, green and blue ones). A reflector surrounds the LED chips.
Construction of an RGGB LED chip cluster
The space surrounded by the reflector is filled with a resin to cover LED chips.
Volume scattering inside the resin
Light emitted from the LED chips hits the scattering particles embedded in the resin and goes into various directions.
Comparison of output luminance between two particle sizes
(left) Particle diameter: 0.1 micro meters.
(right) Particle diameter: 0.2 micro meters.
