Applications of SPECTER for design and analysis of coatings.

Reproduction and evaluation of coatings such as a paint coat with metallic or pearlescent characteristics. As almost all visual effects a paint coat creates can be represented using a bi-directional reflectance distribution function (BRDF), the coat can be reproduced under any arbitrary lighting conditions by assigning a precisely measured BRDF to surfaces of objects placed in a virtual space.
