Design of curvature for side-view mirror
Product information

SPECTER
Purpose
To gain good visibility for objects reflected in side-view mirrors
View in the flat-shaped mirror
The flat-shaped mirror reflects objects without distortion while the viewable area is rather small.
View in the convex-shaped mirror
The viewable area has become larger by curving the mirror to be horizontally convex. On the other hand, objects in the mirror appear distorted.
View in the double convex-shaped mirror
The distortion has been decreased with the double convex mirror which is reached by curving the mirror in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Profile of mirror shape: flat and convex
Both horizontal and vertical curvatures of the mirror are defined parametrically and can be controlled by manipulating the points of curves.
